Officers stated they were contacted by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.

Police report they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then located numerous other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Officials state initial examinations show the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; authorities are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in association with the incident," they commented.

Local authorities announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the residents for information.

A senior official stated the vandalism made him speechless and had to be resolved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the killing of nine victims by a assailant focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
