A Fresh Set of Detentions Made in Link to Louvre Jewelry Robbery

Another four persons are now under arrest as part of the ongoing investigation into the recent theft of priceless jewelry at the famous Paris museum, according to the Parisian legal officials.

Specifics of the Most Recent Arrests

Two men, in their late thirties, and two female individuals, in their early thirties and forties, faced apprehension earlier this week. All are from the Paris region.

Included in this group is thought to be the remaining individual of a quartet of thieves that reportedly executed the daylight heist, per French media. The additional three alleged robbers have already been arrested and charged, officials say.

Law enforcement has been granted a maximum of four days to interrogate the suspects. Zero evidence has to date been discovered of the pilfered gems - appraised at 88 million euros (76 million pounds; 102 million dollars) - which were taken on 19 October.

Prior Accusations and Disavowals

A group of four have previously faced charges over the heist - three men and a woman, who also live in the greater Paris.

A woman in her late thirties was indicted in recent weeks with aiding organized theft and criminal conspiracy intended to carry out unlawful acts.

Additionally, a 37-year-old male, was accused of robbery and illegal conspiracy.

These two suspects, who remain unnamed in public records, have rejected all accusations.

The Method of the Robbery Was Carried Out

The robbery occurred when the quartet of male perpetrators employed a hijacked vehicle with a mounted lift to breach the Apollo Gallery through a terrace near the Seine River.

The men used a disc cutter to force open display cases containing the jewelry.

The thieves were inside for a mere four minutes and executed their getaway on two scooters positioned externally at 09:38 in the morning, before transferring to automobiles.

One of the stolen items - a crown - was fallen in the flight but eight more objects of jewellery - such as a necklace with emeralds and diamonds that was gifted by Napoleon I his second wife, Marie-Louise of Austria - were appropriated.

Safeguarding Shortcomings and Consequences

Authorities have indicated that the robbery was executed by minor lawbreakers instead of sophisticated criminal organizations.

Soon following the robbery, it was revealed by the Louvre's director that the only camera observing the Galerie d'Apollon was facing opposite the balcony the thieves climbed over to gain entry.

The museum's president has later confessed that the institution had fallen short in its responsibilities, but rejected claims that security was neglected - saying that from the moment of her appointment in two thousand twenty-one she had been consistently alerting of the requirement for additional resources.

Strengthened Safeguarding Protocols

Since the incident, protective protocols have been enhanced at French heritage sites.

The museum has moved some of its most precious jewels to the Bank of France following the heist.
