Attorney General Announces Probe into Trump Rivals and Jeffrey Epstein Links

On Friday, Pam Bondi designated interim US attorney Jay Clayton to head an probe into opponents of the President and their relationships with Jeffrey Epstein. This move came shortly after the president instructed her to initiate the investigation.

In a statement, the Attorney General highlighted Jay Clayton as “among the nation’s top prosecutors”. The official added, “The department will handle this matter promptly and thoroughly to provide clarity for citizens.”

This development contrasts with a recent memorandum from justice department officials which indicated that documents related to Epstein lacked grounds for further inquiries. According to the memo, authorities “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”
